Germany, Kriegsmarine. A Minesweeper War Badge, Modified for Postwar Wear, Type 4 by Wilhelm Deumer consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac loop marked "800 65"(Kriegsabzeichen fr Minensuch , U Boot Jagd und Sicherungsverbnde). Constructed of gilded and silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Kriegsmarine eagle, surrounding a central depiction of a sea mine exploding, the reverse with a block hinge and banjo style pinback meeting a flattened and rounded catch, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of a Type 4 badge
